[WORSHIP] Celestial Prophecy

Penny Carleton asked about "Celestial Prophecy".

I also think the book that is being pushed on you is the Celestine Prophecy
which, from what I understand, is about a series of prophecies given to
someone who is then sent on a journey to Peru where they find the
fulfilment to these prophecies, etc. The book is VERY New Age and
Mystical. I had a good friend in my congregation who read that book and
went right off the deep end with "energy" and "auras" and her "life
journey" etc. She is now convinced that God created man to experience
Himself, and that Jesus lived previous lives as the Old Testament
patriarchs to that end. She is very sincere, but reading this book has
left her very disturbed, and she has left the Christian fellowship.

Please refer your friend to the Biblical examples of Angelic contact with
men - always as a messenger and never to be worshipped.

Paul Lepine makes a good point that prophecy is from God. This book is
pure fiction, and the author of the book is emphatic about that, but it has
created a large movement within the New Age cult. Everyone I have known
who has read the book has been "converted" to some extent to its
"teachings".

My advice to you is the same as Paul Lepine's - bring this to the attention
of your pastor and stay away from this book. Satan is using it to deceive
the elect.

May God bless and protect you and your congregation as you deal with this
issue.
