[Worship] ***Prayer Requests Guidelines***

Up until now we have not had a clearly stated policy on submitting prayer
requests to the worship list.  Like all other posts to the list, the
underlying guideline has always been that they should be related to worship
in some way.  After much discussion and prayer, the advisors and
administrators of the list have decided that the following requests are
appropriate for this list:

     *requests related to one's own worship ministry
     *requests related to worship outreaches or events
     *requests related to well-known individuals in the worship community 

Because we are a community of worshippers and worship leaders we do realize
that all personal requests do have an impact on worship in some way.  
However, we do not want this list to turn into a personal prayer-request
list.  There are other internet resources and mailing lists for this. 
Therefore, the only exception to the limitation to worship-related requests
would be the following:

     *serious requests for the list member or their immediate family
      (by "serious" we mean life and death situations)

We understand that in a time of deep need you would want to reach out to as
large a group of praying people as possible.  There are several alternatives
to posting your request to the Worship List.  

One alternative is to email your request directly to those folks on the list
that you have a relationship with.  If you do not have any one-on-one email
relationships with folks on the list, I highly recommend that you begin to
develop some of these friendships.  

Another alternative is to submit your request to one of the web sites or
email lists that are set up specifically to deal with prayer requests of all
kinds. Here are a few that I have run across.  (You may find some that are
more to your liking if you do your own internet search.)

     http://www.upperroom.org/prayer/prayer_request_form.html
     http://sites.goshen.net/bibleware/prayer.html

Email requests:
     servant@christianword.org
     prayer@bibleusa.com

If you have a request and you are not sure whether or not it is appropriate
to post to the list, feel free to run it by me first at lori@praise.net or
contact the advisors and administrators at worship-help@praise.net .  And
while we're on the subject of prayer requests, I'd like to ask you to pray
for the advisors and administrators as we seek to keep the Worship List a
place that will build and encourage true worshipers of God.
