[Worship] Multi-Denominational Worship

Hi, everyone. I've finally "logged" back on, after a long summer of
not being near my e-mail. I think I went through withdrawel for
awhile :> Anyway, even though I don't usually write often, I must
respond to something that was said on Thurs. that greatly saddened
me...

Ken Davis wrote (about "ski-bum's" desire to do a Campus Worship
Ministry)

"I dont wish to discourage you, but I would predict that within 6 months
of
unifying the groups on campus, new ones will form and splinter off
because
of disagreements over minors. Perhaps a better approach would be to work
together with the other groups on specific projects such as evangelistic
events, evangelism training, Bible studies/lectures etc......"

I need to say that first of all I was saddened that such an attitude
seems to be around everywhere, and the fact that there are
denominational walls and emninity saddens our Father also.

I also want to encourage "ski-bum" (sorry, I didn't get your name on
your e-mail) with the fact that there is a very successful Worship
ministry on the campus of the University of Saskatoon. If you would like
to talk with the leader of that multi-denominational worship band, email
me privately, and I will give you his email address.

Back to the topic of multi-denominational worship....I think the city of
Saskatoon (canada, - for all you non-canadians) is typical for it's lack
of unity amongst the churches....however in the last year I have noticed
that there seems to be more and more people feeling the urging of God to
get the Church together.
We are a small Mennonite Brethern church, and that has been our desire
for awhile...so we are putting feet to our call this November. We are
coming together with the Vineyard, a couple of pentecostal churches, a
FourSquare church, and Harvest Christian Fellowship, to do a joint 3 day
conference on "The Precious Oil of Unity". Although the diversity of
worship, and theology etc, is all there, it's been a wonderful
experience, in preparation, getting together with these other pastor
couples and praying for each others ministries and sharing our
stories....
I guess I'd like to give a word of encouragement (exhortation!) here.
Don't let denominational boundaries become walls that keep us separate
and apart from our Brothers and Sisters in Christ....break those
"dividing walls in the name of the Son"
Thanks for letting me vent....

Hope this helps.
