[Worship] Journeys of Life - Kev.
Have you guys listened to this album?
For those that don't know about Kevin Prosch and the Black Peppercorns,
here's a bit of info.
Well, the 1st time I heard Kevin was on an early Touching the Father's
Heart album "Save us, Oh God". WOW!! there was summat different about this
guys music. He was one of the 1st worship leaders i'd listened to that was
not afraid of jumping off "the program" and doing some spontaneous stuff. I
loved it!
A few years ago he, and some other dudes formed "The Black Peppercorns".
Their prime purpose (so I understand) was to penetrate the secular music
market with a message of Christianity wrapped up in a "relevant" style of
music. Tumbling Ground was their album that came out of that. They also
took their music into the pub/club scene and also prisons etc.
Anyway, over the last couple of years, Kevin and the team have been on a
world tour, during which they have compiled an archive of juicy moments
where they have simply stepped out and played (and sung) some
"spur-of-the-moment" goodies. Well, Journeys of Life is the album made up
of such moments.
Some tracks are instrumental with strong drum/rhythm sections. Somehow,
they seem to communicate something from God, or about God, without the need
for words. On other tracks, Kevin makes up complete songs on the spot, some
of which are prophetic words to the people or beautiful lyrics of love and
passion to our "lover and friend".
This is one of those albums that you wanna stick on whilst you're on your
own, wazz the volume upto 10 and just lie there on the floor before God.
Definitely a CD to add to your collection.
Blessings
Rob
