RE: [Worship] intro, etc. - Pianist shortage
Hi The issue of what to do when there are few musicians available came up
recently at a worship clinic our church held. One of the participants was
from a small congregation that was struggling because there were only 3 or
4 people helping to lead worship. They were explaining that they only had
1 drummer and thaaat this person couldn't keep the beat to the point where
it was distracting to the rest of the team and the congregation. They
asked for advice and what they were told by people from our church and
from people atttending from other churches were 2 things wich might be
helpful to others in this situation: 1. Pray that God would bring more
people to that congregation who had hearts for leading worship.
2. Don't sway from leading worship i.e. having someone up there just
because worship teams are supposed to have a drummer or a keyboard plyaer
or guitarist or whatever. If it's not seeming to work with the team and
it is causing a problem to have the one person there than perhaps God is
just wanting the hearts in that particular congregation and worship could
be completely accapello and be just as meaningful as with a whole band.
