[Worship] Being a driver vs being a passenger
>Then, last Sunday, my pastor asked me if I could lead next Sunday
>(ie. today). I was willing and eager to get back into it so I started
>preparing right away (praying, planning, selecting songs, meditating
>on God's plan, etc.).
>Suddenly, a number of hardships are suddenly thrust upon me. My
>workload at the office is suddenly massive, plus other personal
>things come up.
>It's like while I'm "safe" in the pews, I'm not as much a danger to
>Satan. However, once I enter again into the worship leading role,
>suddenly I'm under attack (spiritual), so as to perhaps throw me off
>from hitting the mark, as God would point me to it.
>Do any of you guys sometimes sense this difference? Being the driver
>(worship leader) versus being the passenger (a normal congregational
>member out in the pews/chairs)?
Many worship leaders whom I have contacted with had said during there
workshops that they do fast and pray (atleaset once a week). I strongly
believe that fasting allows one to be humble (room for self examination,
confessions), and further keeps our "spirit man alive and active". In the
same time fasting helps to keep our physical body under control thus will
not give much avenue for satan to work. I would like to hear from others
too.
