[Worship] Being a worshipper
Hi all,
I wanted to just share something that I hoped some of you may be able to
relate to or give input on.
This past Sunday we had a wonderfully anointed time of worship (from my
perspective). I was leading and found it easy to 'enter in' to His
presence in worship. Later on in the service we had a special guest -
evangelist, singer, songwriter - who began by singing some of his songs
and encouraged us to enter into worship with him. The strange thing was
I was having a really hard time to 'enter in'. I had a hard time even
following him in the songs let alone worshipping through the songs. I'm
just feeling somewhat discouraged that I couldn't seem to worship in the
Lord's presence under someone else's direction. It's happened before
too when I'd be visiting a church and would try to 'enter in'. It
concerns me because I want to FIRST be a true worshipper and after that
a worship leader. If I find it difficult to worship under someone elses
leadership... something seems to be wrong. I'm also questioning if
others feel like I'm 'leaving them behind' when I lead. I can get so
caught up in worship myself I'm afraid maybe I'm insensitive to where
the people in the congregation are at and running ahead of them.
Sorry this is so long...just wondered if anyone has experienced this or
have been given any insights on it.
Blessings!
Ruth
