 You've probably got the output from the tape deck routed through the
 mixer to the main (for playback), right?  This feeds back into the input
 of the tape deck when you record, producing - you guessed it -
 feedback.  ;->  We've all done it.  Mute your playback channels on the
 main console when you record and you should be alright. >>

Hi.  We've used two decks for years.  One dedicated to playback and the other
for recording.  Either way works and Steve's answer is obviously the
cheapest.
