We have a similar situation, with a flute player 'battling' against
keyboard and *trumpet*!! I use a standard radio mic, as near as possible to
the flute player's mouth - and it works great - balance restored!
Dunno about the cello - never tried it.

Having answered the post, perhaps I'd better identify myself. I've been
'lurking' on the list for about a month and due to holiday have got a bit
behind, hence the late reply. I don't lead worship, but I look after our
sound system. I am musically 'aware' and appreciate musical balance etc.
Our fellowship is Calvary Baptist Church, Cardiff, Wales UK. (Baptist is a
very variable description in the UK!!)
I really enjoy this list - it has taught me a lot and caused me to worship
God better, I believe.
Bless you all,
Phil
