From Proverbs 3:5-7, we're not to lean on our own understanding. We in the
church tend to get comfortable with the way we do things, and settle on that.
As a result, we end up with robes from 200-300 years ago, pews from 200 years
ago, songs from 50-300 years ago, and we no longer make sense to the very
people we're supposed to be taking the Good News to. We shouldn't lean on
anything of our own understanding (comfort level), but constantly chase after
Him, realizing in doing that we will reflect Him in whatever context we find
ourselves.
