Re: [Worship] Agitate Me, Lord!

This is an important subject to me because as a worship leader you are given so many styilistic options and choices as to the "Sound" of the band, or how you mix fast and slow, contemporary LA sound vs a Country Sound. Funk vs Gospel. The list goes on and on. Hillsongs vs Vineyard vs Kim Clement vs Hyminal.

I'm envolved in outreach to a retirement home and a Prison. The Worhsip team is the same. But the Congergation changes.

I struggle with doing Vineyard songs in a Rest Home when "How Great Thou Art" is considered a fast tune.

The prison guys are mostly from the inner city of Detroit. So songs like "Shine Jesus Shine" do not evoke a big response in the convicts.

I am interested in hearing about thought process of others as they make a service fit to needs of the congergation.
