RE: [Worship] Transposing help
Wayne:
I use a program called Finale to prepare all of the charts
for vocalists & band. It is available with a educational/
church discount for under $200. It is a high-end program,
with all that implies - features, functions & learning curve.
(The regular price is $3-400.)
Another program you might want to consider is called
music@passport. It's available for approximately $80.
Both of these (and all of the others) function just as
a word processor does for words. Once the tune
is entered, you can change keys, cut & paste, copy,
etc. very easily.
It takes longer to enter the music & chords than if I
was doing it by hand, but the flexibility on the back
end makes up for the effort up front. (That, and you
no longer hear griping from the bass player about
the legibility of the chart! <grin>)

Subject: [Worship] Transposing help
Hi list,
Does anyone know of a Windows based program that can help me transpose a
piece of music for our worship team? Something that could be done
easily by someone who doesn't play guitar?
Thanks in advance.
Wayne
