We have a similar situation. Last summer our youth went to a major youth
conference in our denomination, attended by about 5000 youth from all over
the world (but mostly USA). When we returned some of them were fired up
about the type of worship they encountered there.
We formed a new youth worship team, and we hold youth worship events once a
month, on Wednesday when the youth group regularly meets. For now, this
team is a mix of youth and adults, but we are working toward shifting the
balance more toward the youth. We have been using music that the youth
requested: songs from that conference, songs that were popular at summer
Bible camp, and other sources. We can't recreate the atmosphere of 5000
youth excited about worship, but it has been good.
Also, some of the songs from that conference have found their way into our
Sunday morning worship. Our youth team has not yet participated in leading
Sunday worship, but it will happen some time. As we explore new territory
with that group, I think our Sunday contemporary team will begin to expand
their styles too.

p.s. I have been collecting posts to this list related to youth worship for
some time, but there has not usually been much discussion on this topic. If
you want copies of those posts, email me privately.
