Re: [Worship] leaders responsibilities
The way it works in our church is that the worship leader for a
particular sunday is responsible for picking the music, leading the
rehearsal, conferring with musicians and singers on transitions,
parts, etc, and actually leading the song service on sunday morning.
The other singers on the team are like part of the band in that they
are there as musical support--but each member of the team, including
singers, instrumentalists, and sound guys, are considered worship
leaders in the sense that we are working together to lead the
congregation in giving their praise and worship to the Lord. On a
sunday morning, the worship leader is more likely to offer a prayer,
give an exortation, etc, but any member of the team (and even members
of the congregation) are welcome to minister in the 'song of the Lord'
(spontaneous song) giving an exortation or other ways.
I know this was long--but I hope it helped a little :-)

the worship has fallen exclusively on the shoulders of the worship
leader (or "songleader," as he has often been called). With the new
dawn of the "worship team", where the responsibility and activity is
shared, where is the "leader's" responsibility? Give me some of the
ways that the "leader" can enhance the "team" in there giftedness and
still remain the "leader"?
