10 reasons are from a prominent American clergyman from the
18th Century. His written statement is from 1723
and is directed against the use of hymns in the church! Today
there is a tendency to shun anything that is contemporary generally
because we don't like change. If this pastor's way of thinking had
won in his time, today we would be singing only metrical psalms.
THANK GOD wiser men prevailed or there would be no hymns (like Holy,
Holy, Holy), gospel songs (like Victory In Jesus), or even contemporary Christian
music (like David Ruis, Kevin Prosch, Deleriou5?) being played
in the church today.
