Joe,
Please rest assured that the Heavenly Father that you serve (as well as us) is
taking care of these 50 or so people and the rest as well. I had this situation
also. After being in a church for over 15 years, my family also left. In those
15
I had been just about everything, worship ministry head, Vice Pres., and
treasurer to name a few. Through my time I went from serving the Lord by serving
the Pastor(which was wrong) to just simply serving God and being there for the
Pastor and congregation. Believe me that's alot healthier outlook. (Sorry, I'm
back now) When we left it was very hard for me to leave the people I cared for
but I realized that I cared more for my wife and family and God wasn't going
anywhere, He was right there with me. It took 9 months for one of the elders to
call me to ask why we'd left. At that point I no longer felt attached anymore to
the old and was free. Our new pastor is wonderful and not at all burdened by
tradition. I'm on the worship team again and leading the congregation in
praise. I'm just there for people.
