Hi Diane;
This is very common problem, and needs to be resolved in order for you
to lead the congregation to worship. Your situation may be a bit unique
because the band has their own system. Pls, just several questions
(sorry for the number); then a response will follow later (I get the
digest version of the list).

1. Does the band's sound system go through the church's sound system?
2. If not, are there 2 operators (i.e. one for the band and one for the
"church")?
3. Also, if the band controls their own sound system, where is it being
controlled (or mixed)?
4. Does the band have a monitor(s) with your voice?
5. Where is the band positioned relative to the audience? Close or back
stage?
6. Where are the church's sound system speakers relative to the band,
AND their speakers (if that's the case)?
7. What instruments are in the band?
8. What is the size of room/auditorium/sanctuary (seating capacity)?
9. When could the people in your congregation not hear you? In other
words, do they need to hear your singing voice over the worship team(?),
or just the leader-type instructions during a song or between songs. If
you have a worship team, can the congregation hear them ok over the
band?

Thanks!
