a. a Believer
b. leaders shouldn't necessarily be Neophytes (1 Tim 3)
c. an intense contagious passion for God. (Wouldn't it be cool if we could
operate here all the time?)

Yes.

Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.
(Psalms 33:3, KJV).

Leads worship leaders... Disciples worship leaders...imparts vision...

For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the
south.
But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
(Psalms 75:6-7, KJV).

God ordains, man ratifies.

Many people are in the position but shouldn't be because of #1 (and also
probably some of the other requirements you all brought up). Some are in
the position, should be there, but are operating according to their own
understanding. They have become cheerleaders instead of servants.

This past Sunday, I felt miserable, my head was killing me. I wanted
desperately to just go home and crawl back in bed. To top it off, it was
the day for folks to come and share their various concerns with me...
(grumble time) and all right before church is supposed to start. I knew I
was there to serve God and the people. I had to stick it out.
Our goal is to wash their feet, to enable them to worship, to facilitate
fellowship.

The ultimate factor in our qualifications can also be how we deal with
pride, the greatest pitfall for anyone in visible ministry.

Well that's just a few thoughts to add to the pot....
