[Worship] The difference between Praise and Worship

The topic came up in our Praise team a couple months ago of what is the
difference between praise and worship? Some people thought that the fast songs
were praise songs and the slow songs were worship songs. I kind of blew the
discussion off afterward, but Dave Martin's post the other day on staff leaning
got me thinking about it again. Here's my thought: WORSHIP is something of the
heart. It is a spiritual recognition of the greatness of God (John 4:24).
PRAISE is the natural result of worship, it is the external manifestation of the
worship. It is declaring the greatness and goodness of God. If I'm
unerstanding his correctly, maybe we should stop having Praise and Worship teams
and start having Worship and Praise teams. After all, if you aren't worhsipping
Him, you can't be giving Him true Praise!

This is just a thought based on the information I have as of now. I'd love to
hear people's comments.

God bless,
Mike
