Well first of all I think I know the song your talking about...
The chorus to the song I'm thinking about is..

God is good, all the time
He put a song of praise in this heart of mine

Does that sound like it? If it is, I'll give you more information on it.

To answer your second question I'll tell you what someone told me when I was 
in a similar situation.

They said that it's a good idea to contact a worship minister of a large 
church in the area , explain your situation, and ask them if there's anyone 
that would like to help out. Alot of times in a large church they will get 
maybe 5 or more professional (or close to professional) drummers and they 
will only be able to use about 2 or 3 at the most and then the other ones are 
left with no opportunity to use their gift. Usually there are talented 
musicians just sitting there because there is an over abundance of musicians 
and they would be glad to help out. 

By the way...what area of Texas are you in? I'm in Texas also..
