Hmmm... actually, Rick, I've been doing it that way for about 15 years,
except mine is:

I thought God was only true in fairy tales
True for someone else, but not for me
Life was out to get me, that's the way it seemed,
Disappointment haunted all my dreams

Then I saw His face,
Now I'm a believer
There's not a trace
Of doubt in my mind
I found His love
Now I'm a believer,
I couldn't leave Him if I tried...
