The State Park offers facilities for just about any need you may have. On
site is a sprawling lake-side 18 hole golf course, marina, swimming area,
campground, tennis courts, picnic areas and playgrounds. The Inn is built
overlooking the lake and offers full service, including a sumptuous daily
buffet in their restaurant.
Dates
Acafest '99 will begin at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 8, 1999. Registration
will begin at 3:00 p.m. that afternoon. Our last scheduled event will be
Sunday morning worship on July 11. We should wrap things up by noon on
Sunday.

The Paris Landing Inn and Convention Center offers very nice rooms. We have
held 30 rooms for the seminar, but you must make reservations for yourself.
These are on a first come, first serve basis. Room rate is around $62 per

There are other options. Paris is a short 15 minute drive away where there
are several hotels available. Nearby Dover, TN also offers several locally
owned hotels. There are also many full service campgrounds in the State
Park. They offer spots for campers in tents all the way to plug-ins for
RVs. Here is some contact information:

The Paris Landing Inn offers a very good restaurant on site. You can choose
from the menu or the daily buffet. Friday night they offer a magnificent
seafood buffet. There several other locally owned restaurants in the area,
most of which cater in catfish (the local delicacy). 10 minutes west of the
lake is Dover, TN, which has several good places to eat. 15 minutes east of
the lake is Paris, TN, which offers many restaurants, both locally owned
and nationally franchised.
Child Care
Child care will be provided at a per-session cost. Sessions will be offered
in the morning from 8:30-12:00 and in the afternoon from 1:30-4:00. Fee is
$12 per child per session or $40 for the entire seminar (4 sessions).
Please make reservations by May 1, 1999, if you will require this service.
Other Activities
Many times families will attend the seminar and make it a family vacation.
Sometimes, one spouse will attend Acafest while the
other plays with the children all day. If that is your
intent, or you wish to tack some vacation time
on before or after Acafest, the Paris Landing area offers many things to keep
you busy.
As was mentioned above, the State Park offers all sorts of things to do. Just
across the lake, you enter the Land Between The Lakes, another State Park
area. There you will find nature trails, more campgrounds, a restored Civil
War
Fort and battlefield, a working 1830s village where you can interface with
the
residents, water sports on Kentucky Lake, and more fishing than you can
shake a stick at. The Paris area is a great place to spend some time.
Registration
To register, please call Larry Sparks at 931-486-3101, ext. 21. If you
connect to his voice mail, he will call you back ASAP.
We hope to see you there!
