[Worship] Re: amusing worship experiences

Well, Terry, one good fly story deserves another. I heard this one today. A
friend of a friend, as it were.

Seems that this guy was a very fine speaker, beginning to build his
ministry, speaking around the country at the time, young and handsome. He
and pastor were up on stage, their wives were in the pastoral pew up front.
Pastor leans over and says, "Well, sir, I'm gonna introduce the special.
It's a real touching number, folks enjoy her and this song. I'll introduce
you, too, and you can just take the mic from her and start into it."

And so it began. Pastor stood, gave a short intro and handed the mic to the
female vocalist. It was evidently live accompaniment. She is singing away
and he looks down. His wife is frowning and giving him hand signals as
inconspicuously as possible. He did not get it that his fly was open.
Several more attempts. Several more blank responses, including one where he
just thought that since they were fairly newly married that she was just
giving an enthusuastic good morning greeting. Just as her last verse
starts, he gets the picture. She is winding down and he has figured out
that he has a problem. Can't just zip it where he sat, so he stood, placing
his large preacher Bible over the offensive sight and walked behind the
vocalist. Plunked his bible on the podium (skinny post, no cover, of
course!!), leans in and tells her to repeat the chorus one more time,
saying aloud, "Isn't that a WONDerful song???? Sing that chorus one more
time sister." He was trying to tug that zipper up, but it was being
stubborn. Finally, it closed. He thanked her and reached around to take the
mic and as she began to leave, he realized that he had zipped the back of
her dress in the front of his pants!!! "Oh, sister, you MUST sing that
chorus again. With every eye closed and every head and heart bowed...."

He did get extricated, but talk about a silly situation gone sillier!!
