Re: [Worship] Guitar Players: efx or no efx?

To effect or not to effect, that is the question. Our worship team is small,
with really only two guitars, bass and piano. The lack of drums leaves the
sound kind of thin at times, so I try to make the voice of my guitar
different from the other. My effects chain is as follows: guitar into Morley
wah into Mesa Boogie V-Twin preamp into Danelctro Cool Cat Chorus into Mesa
Boogie Mark 1 reissue amp.

For acoustic guitar days I'll run my amp into a PA cabinet instead of the
internal Celestion speaker. The combo of the chorus and all the tubes in the
V-Twin and the Boogie really add warmth, while the 6V6 power tubes in the
amp let lots of high end sparkle through, especially into a PA cabinet.

I'm thinking of adding a Carvin effects processor in order to get a bit more
spacious sound with some echo, phase & flange. I'm just not sure I'm ready
for that $300 investment. Does anyone have a favorite processor?
