[Worship] Worship Position at Northwestern College



I would like to alert the members of the worship list to the following 
Worship Position Opening at Northwestern College:


Celebrative Arts Faculty/Staff Position in Music & Ministry, 
Northwestern College (Iowa), Orange City, IA 

This position combines half-time teaching in the Music Department's 
church music program with half-time leading and
organizing music for worship in the Student Ministries Department. 
This is a two-year position, with strong possibility of
becoming permanent.

Music Department responsibilities would include teaching (six credits 
per semester) Church Music Administration, Worship
Music in a Contemporary Culture, Music Technology, and World 
Musics.
Other courses subject to the candidate's strengths will be selected 
from: Music of the Church, Christian Perspectives on the
Fine Arts, Aural Perception labs, Orchestration, Form and Analysis, 
World Music Ensemble, and Applied Instruction in the
performance area of specialty, Choral/Instrumental Arranging, and/or 
Composition. 

The successful candidate will also coordinate the church music 
internship program. 

Student Ministries, responsibilities include working with the campus 
chaplain to coordinate music for the daily chapel program,
to teach and lead praise and worship ensembles, and to train and 
supervise campus ministry teams that participate in worship in
area churches. 

Candidates must have a minimum of a masters degree in music (or 
professional equivalent); have theological background with
significant experience in leading worship; have an evangelical 
Christian commitment, and be
committed to the distinctives of Christian liberal arts education. 
Candidates must also support and be able to develop blended musical 
styles in a chapel program; possess experience and
expertise in leading and planning music for worship in contemporary 
and traditional styles; be creative, flexible, and have
excellent musical skills in multiple areas, have expertise and experience 
with media, live sound amplification, and computer
applications in sequencing and notation.

Screening of applications began on November 15 and will continue 
until the position is filled.
