After having the blessing of owning a Taylor 514 CE for several months now, I have formed some opinions.

First of all,  I love my guitar,  it fits me perfectly.  I play  a lot of different Taylor's until I felt at home with this particular one.

As to the electronics,  I have formed a definite opinion.   I wish that I didn't have the factory installed Fishman unit in it.  It almost seems sinful to have that hunk of plastic stuck into this marvelous instrument.   Baggs makes a system that doesn't require cutting into the side of the guitar.  

I also would not spend the money for the dual system.   I have tried to use the internal mic but have not been satisfied with it.  First of all,  when I plug it into my studio at home,  it won't even come close to the AKG cardiod mic that I use, so I won't use it in the studio.

Secondly, for live applications, the bridge pickup is much better.  It has a lot more volume before feed back.  Also the internal mic picks up all of the noise that occurs when you touch the outside of the guitar.

I know that there are a lot of other brands of fine guitars out there, but for me I'm happy with the Taylor.
