On feedback - which mic is it ??

The Shure / Countryman headset _will_ feedback if not worn correctly.  This
headset must be positioned at the corner of the mouth.  If it "rides" up on
the face ( as this mic tends to do ) then it is more prone to feedback.
You may need to notch the monitor EQ at the problem frequency to fix the
problem.

If it is the Crown mic - then it is either being worn incorrectly or there
is a major problem with the mic or monitor.

If it is the AT - i have not used it, so Check the manual and tweak the
monitor EQ if necessary.

As far as "working" the mic.  You can still control your own level, but you
cannot control the placement of the mic.  A Compressor inserted on the
headset channel at the console will keep the dynamics under better
control.... But the guy at the console must be capable of setting the
compressor correctly and mixing as needed.  Setting the compressor
correctly will allow the dynamics to be there - just in better control.
