Re: [Worship] Christmas Preschool Song
John,
Two years ago I wrote a Christmas song for the kids in my son's first grade
class in public school(!) --I was doing a presentation of "what we do an
our house at Christmas" and knew that many kids wouldn't know Christmas
songs and wouldn't be very good readers... so I came up with an "echo"
song (over lunch one day -- I wish they all came so easily!) They picked
up on it easily... and so have the other groups we've used it with since
(starting with preschoolers). Might suit your purposes.
I've typed up the first verse (of three) below [the kids sing what's in
parentheses] --for the rest, and to hear the tune, go to
http://www.worshipmap.com/lyrics/inbethlehem.html (I also can send you
a leadsheet as a pdf file if you want to give it a try.)

Have you seen the little baby boy
in Bethlehem (in Bethlehem)?
Did you hear the angels shout for joy
in Bethlehem (in Bethlehem)?
A baby boy (a baby boy)
Shout for joy (shout for joy)
for a Savior has been born to us this day.
Say, have you seen the little baby boy
in Bethlehem (in Bethlehem?)
O come and see him now
in Bethlehem (in Bethlehem)!
BTW, I have another one my wife has used with kids as young as two --they
sing the chorus, the adult sings the verses. It's found at
http://www.worshipmap.com/lyrics/hosanna.html
Even if neither of these suits your purpsoses, I think there are other
'echo' songs --or any Christmas song with a simple chorus-- that could work.
