The elders and ministers of the congregation with which I fellowship have
decided next Sunday is the day our small praise and worship group goes prime
time. We have been playing one or two songs at the PM service (followed by 2
or three hymns) for about 2 months. The AM service has been reserved to the
organ/piano and choir. Over the last three years I, as song leader,  have
introduced some Praise and Worship into the AM service (one as the
processional and one while we take up the offering) but with much difficulty
and opposition from a small group that thinks the AM service should be
reserved to HYMNS. The elders and ministers want to reach out to the college
who's housing en-circles us. So next week in the 15 min between Sunday
school and the AM service our group will lead anyone who comes into the
sanctuary in Praise and Worship. Our session will end when the choir enters
and the organ/piano prelude begins. For the two worship songs in the
service, the organ/pianist will have the right to play but if they can't,
won't or don't want-to the group will play. So you can see I really really
need your prayers.
