It sounds like the church leadership is supporting you (even leading 
this charge -- "reaching out to college"). This is a good thing. As 
leadership, they also need to make the rest of the church aware of why 
you guys are starting this new AM service music.

If the new music is just started without explanation, I could see the 
"small group" getting upset again and resisting. Sure, they might also 
resist even if the purpose is explained. But they (and everyone in the 
church) needs to see that the leadership is driving this and that there 
is a very good reason for why it's happening. The leadership might even 
get a large group in the church on their side when they hear how you 
want to reach out to the college.

Anyway, I pray for blessings on your new songs and on the church.
