[Worship] Keyboarding question and introduction

Hello, everyone, and happy new millennium!

My name is Tina Gasperson. I'm a 38 year old mother of five, wife to Darin,
a fulltime work-at-home writer, and part of the worship band at my church,
Welcome Home Community Church (Christian & Missionary Alliance).

It's a new church, and I've always mainly been a singer, but I volunteered
to do keyboard because they had no one else. I played the organ for many
years as a child/adolescent, but haven't done anything with it for a long
time. Chords and anything having to do with the left hand is very easy for
me, but I have no idea what to do with my right hand as far as improv, etc.,
during praise/worship choruses. I've not been able to find any information
on this, and no one I've asked has really been able to tell me exactly what
to do.

I've realized that I love playing an instrument in the band, and I want to
be the best that I can. Simply holding down chords with my left hand is
'ok,' but not enough. Is there anyone on the list who could offer a few
pointers on playing something pleasing with my 'melody' hand, or maybe point
me to an online or offline resource?
