[Worship] I'm back in the swing of things! Yeah

I am so very excited. After my post last night my husband and I sat down and hashed out a lot of things, including our issues with our church and our friends. It has been a hard year, and although we are extremely thankful for everything God has done in our lives this year we have also experienced a lot of heartache and we are anticipating 2001 to be a great year.

As I said in my post last night, a new worship center is opening up and I am very excited. The team is only a small group of people from all over our county, not one from the same church as the other, and we all have the same vision...to see God work in the lives of the people here in our samll town. It is amazing the way it has come together. The forerunner who is putting it all together seems like she is the one who thought of this but in all reality God orchestrated this whole thing. It started as a vision in the mind of one man who lives half an hour away and was confirmed by a man in our own backyard. What we will be doing is forming a worship team for the purpose of holding worship services every Saturday night. Our intention is not to take away from any of the churches in the area and our desire is to see all the churches join us so that we may all worship in unity. We have a chapel with a stage and sound room all fully ope! rational that has been vacant for years! We have the support of a very influential Pastor in the community standing behind us and although it is all very low key still, we have had very good responses from those who have been invited into the fold of those who are going to be a part of this.

This all may seem trivial to some of you who live in big cities and big churches, but any of you who live in small towns might understand. My community holds a very small town mind set....change is not welcomed often. There was a breakthrough in worship only last year but it faced opposition and resentment only because people were feeling threatened. Some people have not wanted to give up control in ceratin areas and it has caused any movements to be squelched. But God has a plan for his people in my community. A lot of people in my community have come from broken homes, they are on welfare, they are run down spiritually and emotionally. There are a lot of handicapped people in our community who desperately need to know that they are worthy of love and acceptance. The youth in this town have what seems like no hope and many are troubled. The community is a nice retirement community and a tourist town and it is a very nice pl! ace to live. But despite all that there is a large group of people who live here who desperately need God and so to start an outreach like this is going to be phenomenal! Please pray for us. We are excited but we are proceeding with caution.

As I said earlier....I am dealing with my feelings of hurt and bitterness, I don't want to walk in anger because it is only going to hurt me in the long run. Mike and I spent our time together in prayer and it really helped to release alot of the anger that I have been carrying. The release is good.
