Awe, a guitar thread,  we haven't had one of those for a while.

I'm sure you'll get a different opinion, but I think the blender system is a
waste of money.  I have the Fishman on my Taylor and NEVER use it.  For live
purposes, the saddle pickup is much better, even for fingerpicking, and in
the studio, you can get a better sound using a Sure SM 57 if thats you're
only option.  A good condenser is preferred.   A mic would never work for
live situation in band with drums.

I have heard that the Baggs ribbon system is good but I have never heard
one.  What might help more than anything else is a good outboard
effects/pre-amp.  I find a bit of Chorus helps take the edge out of the
pickup.
