[Worship] Acoustic Guitar Pickups - the bionic box... Fishman Vs Lr Baggs

Hi there....

I have a Fishman Blender system in my Taylor 814 that I don't care for. I
have an LR Baggs pickup in my Goodall guitar that I love. The sound is much
more natural. The volume output of the Lr Baggs is a lot lower though. I
hardly ever use the microphone portion of either though... they don't work
well in a live setting, and a good mic combined with the pickup line out
sounds better in the studio.

One thing I would suggest for everyone with an acoustic guitar that
especially helps the Fishman pickups sound a lot better is a box that LR
Baggs makes called a "Para acoustic DI" it is a bionic direct box that has
eq on it as well as a phase shift and volume. I plug my acoustics into it.
Every time I play at a church the sound guys gather around and ooh and ah and
want to buy one to keep at the church. They make just about any acoustic
guitar sound better. I use it with the lr baggs to have some tone control
which the Lr baggs doesn't have. I have the kind that's non-invasive... they
don't have to cut a big hole in the guitar to install the controls. They
have a blender and volume control that clips onto the sound hole and is very
small. It's great because when the technology changes I won't have a big
plastic dinosaur sticking out of my $3,500 Goodall which is such a wonderful
instrument I couldn't bear to cut a big hole in it anyway.
