Tom,

1.  You are not alone.

2.  God loves these people more than anyone.

3.  Worship is response to God.  Only God knows what is in the heart.

4.  Don't let anything stand between you and God -- not your desire to
serve, not the great things He has done in your life, nothing.

5.  People have to be hungry before they desire to be fed, only the Holy
Spirit can spark that hunger.

6.  Work within the structure where you are.  If you find you cannot,
perhaps you should be in a different place -- either physically or, harder
to hear,  spiritually.

7.  Pray.

9.  Pray.

10.  Worship is changing everyday.  Renewed liturgy is what people desire.
Have you seen any of the Marty Haugen stuff?  How about the music of the St.
Louis Jesuits.  Oregon Press has a website with great stuff.  The Catholic
renewed liturgy is doing great things in churches of all denominations.
