This is for Lisa, who asked about 4 part arrangements. There is a vast
amount of music out there! Finding it is the trick. I don't know, off
the top of my head, where to find it on the web, but if you email me
I'll give you the number of a local source here. He can also put you in
touch with more info. I used to go to a conference called "Music
Michigan" put on by the local music outlet. All the churches (who wanted
to) could attend, and for a small fee get a copy of all the new
arrangements for the year by the different music companies. The people
from the companies came to show you their music, let us sing through it,
and sent us home with lots of music to go through. Some people hated
these conferences, but I enjoyed hearing all the new music. Some of it
was pretty traditional, but they were getting more and more new stuff
all the time. At the time, I was directing a choir of about 25-30
people. The church I attend now has closer to 100 people in the choir
(I'm not the director) but they still attend these conferences from time
to time.
Anyway, the guy at Daystar Music (in Michigan) knows a LOT about choral
music, and is a big help. I'm pretty sure our church gets a lot of their
music from him.
If anyone wants this info, let me know.
