thnank you John..
this brought tears to my eyes..
I only want to give God my best..
and I pray that in giving God my best,
that he will make the path not so hard on anyone else
who may be struggling with their gifts and talents.
I have been there and am still there sometimes so I know
how that feels..
when I began to remember God gave me this talent.. I began to appreciate it
more..
and when twinge's of envy of another's voice start to spring up I have to
rebuke
Satan and say.. My God doesn't give ugly or bad gifts... or ones to be
compared!:)
I need to be happy with how I sing.. because it's how he made me.
I never thought about the fact that if the leaders (the P&W ones) don't want
to help me use my voice to glorify God then they aren't wanting God's will..
thanks for reminding me of what to pray..
that when God wants to use me.. I will be used and it will be a great
timing!:)
Thanks so much John!!:)
Chey

> I think if your biggest concern is that singing in public is making the
worship leader and some of the others make it seem like it is you they are
uplifting because of your talent remember one thing. When we have talent,
that is a gift from God, if they want your to sing and you are good, don't
be afraid to be good with it. I don't mean to make it seem like you are the
best there is, but don't back off because of it. When I was serving at a
small church as a minister of music, the choir didn't care about singing
correctly or even sounding good, as long as they were making a joyful noise.
Well I reminded them that yes every bit of worship is only to the glory of
God, but God wants us to bring our best tithes and offerings into the
storehouse and I believe that is in talent as well. Don't overdo it to make
you sound really good, but be yourself. You seemed so worried about what ev
eryone else things about you and when you sing, I'm telling you to forget
about everyone else and only focus on God when you sing. Christmas Eve
morning at the church I am playing in the Orchestra for and my wife sings in
the choir, our Minister of Music was going to be gone and I had to fill in
for him. We are televised. But I had to tell myself that no matter if I
thought I was good at what I did or if the ones at church or the ones at
home watching on T.V. was good, I was there to serve God. I have a great
voice to, I was a Music Major and have served in a few churches, where there
actually was not a lot of talent, but I made sure to show that everyone is
on a even playing field, and this is especially in dealing with worship God.
We all have to serve, we all have to do what God tells us, and if you lay
low, because you are scared at being to proud and not humble enough, the
only three things suffering are you, God because you are not using your gift
and the church you attend because your singing could be the blessing and the
spiritual uplifting that they need to make it through there week or make
that decision to serve Christ. God doesn't make junk, and God will bless
you even if you think you are being to proud, because as a human, I think we
need a little pride to get up in front of a bunch of people or we will never
be effective.
