RE: [Worship] What's the point of "ear-splitting" music?
Mike:
Great points! As a "boomer" who got a little too much of that loud music (I
was also a radio DJ for almost 20 years), I'm now suffering from both
tinnitus and hearing loss. Hearing aids help, but nothing replaces the real
thing.
Please, people, take care of your hearing (and other people's hearing, too)!

[Been there, done that, and got the tee shirt. I'd be glad to give it away,
but nobody seems to want it.]

Subject: [Worship] What's the point of "ear-splitting" music?
Hi everyone,
A note of caution about "loud" worship services:
Even mild-volume worship services often create sound volumes above 90dB,
which is the threshhold where hearing-loss can result from extended
and/or repeated exposure. Worship bands playing consistantly above
100db are NOT uncommon. 15 minutes of exposure to 100dB+ noise can
cause permanent hearing loss! And when most people talk about
"ear-splitting" (an appropriate description), we're usually talking 110+
dB!!!
