First, I do agree with you, generally speaking.

But I also know from experience that sometimes the only place of healing is the
First Church of the Living Room. Just not forever or even for very long. IMHO.

I, too, have known families who abdicated from life "in the body". Lots of
different attitudes, but mostly either out of terrible hurt at the hands of
leadership or leader families in the congregation. The other biggie seems to be
that church is woefully inadequate for "folks like them". PewSnobs who always
know more and better than the pastor or that pesky worship leader. Probably 90%
of those folks that I've met would fall into one of those two categories.
