Re: [Worship] Stop generalizing Preachers
My pastor would disagree with you ...
he does say he believes in being teachable even as a pastor but he only
holds himself accountable to other pastors. ..those he considers "his
pastors".
and GOD of course.
He has said that you cannot lead people who can take impeach you (not his
words but I cannot remeber the exact ones)..
in other words, how can a leader lead those who could, at any given moment
be able to rebel against his authority ..
We have to submit to one another but just as in a marriage, where a wife
submits to a husband you ahve to ask yourself where does "submit to one
another" fit into this? How can a wife be under husband's authority and
still have him submit to her.
So I think we have to take it into the context of when it was written and
which church had the trouble and use the principles therein.
If I am married I submit to my husband, yes he listens to my advice and my
wisdom but makes the decisions himself being accountable to God.
My friends and I submit to one another and michael (my husband) is supposed
to submit to pastor/leaders and his bosses at work ...so in essence everyone
is submitting to one another with the authority headships still intact.
It really works..in our church and other churches where there is not a board
that can remove the pastor, if he messes up , the church would probably
disband and move on.. rather than have him removed and a new one in his
place.
I have seen this happen and it works much better that way.... (unless of
course the pastor had a new calling/assignment God called him to and then I
think the Lord would send up a man that has been already at the fellowship
under the pastor, to take over)
Anyway food for thought ...
