Many of the songs that are sung today are straight from scripture. I think
of one that says:
To you, O Lord, I lift my soul
In you, O God, I place my trust
Do not let me be put to shame
Nor let my enemies triumph over me
Now this is straight from the Psalms. How someone happens to arrange the
song can be their porogative, but you don't have to look far for the
scripture in Worship songs.
If you would like other songs that are written from scripture, go ahead and
e-mail me personally and I will send you some.

ABSOLUTELY!!
And we sing "the latest" music too.
I was at a session with Andy Park and he described how when he first went to
a Vineyard church he found these people "Singing simple love songs to Jesus"
I am not sure that our current situation where we often sing "complicated"
songs is much of an advance!
I find the simplicity of the music of the 70's and 80's has a great deal to
commend it - and I find it very useful in worship.
Yours in Jesus
