[Worship] getting feedback from congregation
Fellow listers,
Alert! This is NOT a techie question <G>. After reading the
posts/responses regarding intros and instrumental interludes and on the
potential they have to facilitate/hinder worship and worshippers, the type
of "feedback" I'm curious about is the information we might glean from the
"in-the-pew" folks with regard to how worship is "going." We know that the
condition of our hearts and our focus on the living God is paramount, but as
human beings, we just function better if we get some responses sometime
(don't try to deny it!).
While I don't think it wise to do a whole-church survey (although if
anyone's done something like that successfully, I'd love to hear about it),
has anyone tried using formal, periodic evaluations by a random number
congregational members? Do any of you ever request a third party eval of
your worship teams, for example, the leader or members of another team who
might be asked to give feedback? If you are doing anything like this, what
"elements" do you ask for reaction to? What, if any, changes or
modifications have you made in response to suggestions?
To all a blessed weekend of worship!

P.S. I occasionally ask my kids (20, 18 and 12) to give me feedback (trust
me, they do!) but they usually say "turn up the electric guitars."
