[Worship] compliments

I think the best answer is what I heard Corrie Ten Boom say at a small 
gathering of about 20 of us in Annapolis,  Maryland...I asked her how she 
deals with all the compliments from folks...she said she looks at them like 
flowers folks give to her...you accept them and thank folks for giving them 
to you...and at the end of the day you have a bouquet of flowers...you turn 
and give them all to the Lord...and say here Lord these belong to you.  I 
thought that was a great way of dealing with a subject that can go to your 
head quickly if you are not mature in Jesus.  

We can ruin it for folks by not accepting their compliments..or by putting on 
some false sense of humility.( you know by saying its just the Lord)...I said 
that very statement  one time and one of my non-saved friends said..hmmm 
thats funny I thought I saw you up there singing and I thought it was your 
voice that I heard through the system)  I laughed but it touched a nerve.  
Its okay to accept compliments them as long as we turn and give them to 
God...realizing that its because of Him that we are able to receive 
them...Folks can see through the false humility believe me they can see just 
like we can see through it....I dont want to recieve any of the praise that 
is due God it all belongs to Him..Think of it like the Saul slayed a thousand 
but David slayed ten thousand thing...we all know it was the Lord who fought 
the battles however he uses people to accomplish His purposes on many 
occasions and its a natural reaction for folks to say these type 
things...David didnt stop them...he let them celebrate...and he in turn gave 
the glory to God...its all about our focus...I AM NOT SAYING LET FOLKS MAKE 
YOU AN IDOL, REPEAT I AM NOT SAYING LET FOLKS MAKE YOU AN IDOL but sometimes 
when someone does, says, sings, prays something it touches you and you are 
eternally grateful you have a tendency to really thank that person and honor 
them for having input to help you either change your paradigm or your life.  
You have to know what to do with the compliments..
