RE: [Worship] how Christian artists lead worship

Delerious has two shoes to fill - their songs are sung in church and are
worship-oriented, but they tour with Bon Jovi, etc - they're putting on a
concert WHILE worshipping God. Singing along is great, but they definitely
put on a concert (I've seen them once, at a Worship Together seminar). They
claim to be worshipping during the concert (I just read an article about
them) - but you can't really tell that unless you're them - know what I
mean?

No, on a broad scale. But you have to look at your local church, and pick
songs that your band can play, and at the same time make sure your average
congregation member can sing it, too. My church can handle guitar solos,
loud drums, singers who stray off the melody line, etc - but the church down
the street thinks the song Majesty is the coolest thing since sliced bread.

mid-40s).

Could be :-) Worship "artists" (from Worship Together, anyway) tend to be
loud, have guitar solos, etc. Very different from Maranatha of the learly
80's. They're trying to reach the 20's and younger generation - and if they
catch some in their mid-40's, I doubt they object.
