[Worship] Pastor & Worship Leader

I'm glad such an issue has come up on the list. I
believe that as worship leaders we ought to be men &
women of Character & Integrity.
I've got a few comments:
1- We need wisdom to avoid situations that expose us
to temptation. I'm in total agreement with Pastor
Jerry. One preacher told us that we can resist all
temptations but the Bible commands us to flee from
lust. Wisdom in my opinion is setting boundaries in
our lives especially relationships. It is important to
know and/or set limits.
2- When advised to keep the door open, I think one
should heed. Sooner or later one may hear gossip that
could break their heart. It is actually more hurting
when false allegations are made which one can't
dismiss because of putting oneself in a compromising
situation.
3-  I'm a married man. I've learnt that my wife is
never comfortable with ladies who insist on having a
private audience with me. Being friends with the
Pastor's wife is no endorsement of one's actions. If
asked, her opinion would prove me right.
4-  Lastly, we ought to learn that people never talk
about us in our presence. The same guys who praised
Jesus crucified Him. One should try to think of what
he/she would say about someone else.

This is kind of a non-issue where I'm at.  I'm single,
our pastor's married, but he and I meet weekly behind
closed doors in his office anyway for planning
services and establishing long range goals for the
ministry.  I'm also on good terms with his wife.  So
far, the congregation hasn't uttered a peep about
inpropriety.
I'm not licensed or ordained, but who knows, maybe if
I was still young and good-looking the rumor mill
might be hotter than it is now (g).
