Well, here's my two cents:
I think this is a highly overlooked practice for lead worshippers 
these days. It's part of our duty to make sure that people are able 
to sing and worship. If we don't make sure that the songs we are 
singing are in a singable key....then I would venture to say that we 
aren't really taking care of all the duties of our calling. Can 
people worship with a key that's too high? Yep. Will people actually 
sing and worship in a key that's too high? Usually not. It's 
difficult enough to make a careful attempt at leading a congregation 
in true worship...let alone when there is another distraction thrown 
into the mix.
