[Worship] Having to Make A Decision

Hi,

I'm attending a church where worship is anything but worshipful. Four
groups, each with their own personality, but no sense of direction. I've
watched people have service here and not even respond to the team up on the
stage. I've watched the team practically beg the congregation to pay
attention, only to lose them again the moment they start singing.

Yes, it's partially the pastor's fault, and yes, God can fix anything,
but I'm just not sure I can continue participating in this. It's just too
hard, after being a part of something that either works, or strives to work.
I'm not being legalistic when I say that I beleive there are rules and
guidelines that should be applied to the worship team, but to suggest this
here is to get long speeches about being religious and learning to operate
in "structure within chaos." To me, it's just another way of saying,
whatever happens, happens.

I don't want to leave the church, but right now I've just stepped away
from worship. I'm not sure when or if I'm going back. Is it wrong to want
some semblance of organization? Am I wrong for pointing out what seems so
obvious? And finally, isn't striving for no boundaries almost a childish
endeavour? I mean, if we are accepting the "yoke" of Christ, and Christ uses
this analogy to make His point, then why do we balk at the boundaries
necessary to make ministries work?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated,

Johanna (Tired of running on the worship/church mill)
