Hi Patti,

Lord I Lift Your Name on High is another of those
songs that has a really wide range with the low verse
and the high chorus. I used it occasionally, because
it's such a great song and I love what it has to say,
but no matter what key you do it in, the verse is
going to be too low for half the people, and the
chorus will be too high for the other half. That's
what knocked it out of the rotation at my old church,
and that was before I started leading. I didn't know
why it wasn't being used any more until I got into
that inner circle where those kinds of decisions are
made.

Lots of great guitar players tune their guitars down.
Worked great for Stevie Ray Vaughan and Buck Owens, so
you're in good company no matter how you look at it!
