Greg, we don't have a published rule on this but when I visited a church
in South Carolina recently I witnessed something I would like to
implement in our church. There regular team stood out front, both
singers and band and then you could see positioned behind instruments
and microphones in the background what you might call apprentices. When
I questioned them about what I saw this was exactly their plan.
Musicians that were younger and less experienced still played but they
were not amplified to the same extent as the more experienced. The same
for the vocalists, three to four behind a mic.
None of this of course speaks to the level of expertise of your young
lady but thought this might add to the discussion. One last thing, we
have a 7 year old who wants to sing so we've used her with the
children's worship team and one time in a special with the kids during
adult worship.
In His Grip,
Jeff
