[Worship] RE: [Worship]CCLI
For all interested and for the person who sent this to me:
>I suggest you stop using "For His kingdom" until you are willing to
>obey Him, as His servant.
>
>Do you question God about what He wants or just obey ... as a child
>did you ask "why" all the time?
This was totally uncalled for. Look, whether or not you agree with
me....I am working for His kingdom. Most of you who have responded to
my original comments have totally misunderstood what I was saying. I
don't question God's authority or His instruction, but I do question
your ability and my ability to interpret and receive His instruction.
You can find a whole lot of people out there with 'direct authority'
from God that believe in a very twisted doctrine. Even the 12
disciples had it wrong. They were sad when Jesus died because they
didn't believe He would rise again. They thought He was going to
overcome the world in their time. How many people in this world have
a world view that is totally in line with God? Not a single one. No
one on this earth has or ever will have every one of their doctrinal
ducks in a row. There is always some sort of false doctrine that we
hold....no matter how small. As a child I did not ask 'why' all the
time. Now, as a child of God I wonder why we don't ask 'why' more
often. The vast majority of Christians never ask why. The result:
shallow faith. Why do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Why
do you believe that the Bible is without error? Why do you believe
that Christianity is the only truth? Why do you believe that the
Muslim faith is wrong? Why do you believe everything your pastor
tells you on Sunday? Do you see how important the word 'why' is?
>But for those who have given up paying jobs to carry the cross I
>say: Pay them!
I never stated that those who have given up paying jobs to pursue
music should not be paid. I have paid royalties for nearly every
worship song I sing by buying the albums they appear on, and some
songs I've paid it twice.
Once again for all those reading this. I'm not saying we should stop
paying royalties to all those who are gifted in music. I simply made
a comment that a CCLI number on every single piece of reproduced
lyric is in my opinion a bit much. I also stated that if you sign an
agreement to put the number on everything....then you should do it.
In my opinion....as an artist....I could care less about being paid
if a church uses any of my songs. Money from cd's, tickets, t-shirts,
venues, and other merchandise will provide well enough. Have a
blessed day! :)
FOREVER for His kingdom,
Steven
Isaiah 26:8
"We know God but as men born blind know the fire; they know that
there is such a thing as fire, for they feel it warm them, but what
it is they know not. So, that there is a God we know, but what he is
we know little, and indeed we can never search him out to perfection;
a finite creature can never fully comprehend that which is infinite."
